Knock Down to Build Up

We finally strapped on our big boy panties and have begun to tackle the Great Kitchen Wall Project of 2013.

Here is the glorious Before picture:

Let the destruction begin!

I know what you're thinking. And yes, it is an enormous glory hole.

Just to get a feel for the other side as we had to remove our chair rail and the baseboards over there:

The drywall is down, and unfortunately all over the floor. Do you know how hard it is to keep two children from eating drywall? Not easy, my friends.

That's better...

Next on the agenda:

• knocking down the wood
• rebuilding the frame to include the bones of a half wall that is about 4' long and 3' high (same as our counters...consistency can be nice)
• rewiring
• drinking
